Three things worth knowing

You will be told what to do

Nobody knows what to do with their hands. I direct continuously, telling you where to stand, who leans in, and where to look, so neither of you has to invent a pose on the spot.

Movement beats posing

Most of what I ask for is small and real: walk this way, tell them the thing you were laughing about earlier. The frames in between the instructions are the ones you keep.

Golden hour, always

I will send you the exact time the light turns for your date. It is worth planning dinner around. An hour before sunset does more for a photograph than any amount of editing.

Couples questions

Do you photograph weddings too?
I do not. Engagements and couple sessions only. A lot of couples book me for the engagement photos and a wedding specialist for the day itself, and I am happy to recommend photographers in Stillwater I would trust with mine.
We are awkward in front of a camera. Is that a problem?
Everyone says this, and it is never true by the end. I direct the whole session, telling you where to stand, where to look, and what to do with your hands, so you are never left performing at each other.
Can we bring our dog?
Please do. Bring somebody who can hold the leash between frames and it works beautifully.
When should we do engagement photos?
Four to six months before the wedding, if you want them on a save-the-date. Golden hour is worth planning around, and I will send you the exact time for your date.
